I bought my friend's PS2 for $15. He said it doesn't read games. Well it doesn't read games. It doesn't even power on. Does anyone know what could have happened to it, and if it's repairable? It wasn't struck by lightning or anything. It just all of a sudden didn't power on. (It hasn't been taken apart before and is not modded). Thanks for any ideas.

the power cable things broken, its a silver ribbon under the lid, and is very fragile, replacments are cheap on the net.

don't blame me if i'm wrong, but this is the most sensible theory i can think of that can actualy happen

I saw the power cable it was really bent, so maybe that's it. Also I noticed the eject button ribbon was bent and also stretched out. Is that normal?

Do you know where I can get these ribbons? I think I should probably replace both, unless they are normal. (what's the power cable look like anyway, there were lots of ribbons in there, just want to make sure)

I have the same problem. I know it's the eject cable. Someone please tell me where to find one. I ordered from RichsPSX parts but they never sent me the part. NEVER ORDER FROM THERE! please i need help asap
