I recently got some new games for my ps2 and realised that I didn't have enough space left on my ps2 to save these games. So, I transferred a couple of saves to my USB Drive using the Action Replay Max Memory Card Manager. The saves tranferred flawlessly, no errors, nothin. However, as soon as I browsed the ps2 memory card again, all data seemed to have disappeared. I closed the ps2 and opened it again (the restart button or eject button don't work). I browsed the Memory Card using the ps2 browser and found that there were about 40-50 files that read "Corrupt Data". I immediately took out the memory card and put it back in again. This time, no data appeared at all...only 2400kb free space appeared at the top right hand corner. I had over 50 hours of gameplay of RPG's and other games that took a hell lot of time with.
Is there anyway I can recover the data? I'm sure it's still on the MC, because it said 2400kb free. I even tried looking in the memory card using the LaunchELF program via the exploit, no data appeared at all. Is there any program (.elf or CD/DVD) that can recover this data? If not, is there any possible way that I can recover the data?
look about for ps2 sites and you can download athing called MC formater try this burn it to disc put in your ps2 you'll need a wat to boot it http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=mis.html
yeah, I know about the MC formatter. What I don't know is if I can recover the data. I heard that you could copy the data to another memory card but I don't have one. I have a pretty good knowledge of the ps2.
But thanks anyway.
Anyone else who can help me?
Well, you have mentioned that you backed the files up to a USB flash drive, put that in and load ARMAX EVO disk up, and uncrush the files back to the memory card, before you uncrush them back format the memory card by pressin "square" when its highlighted, if the data was corrupted aparently i dont think it is possible to recover it.
Yeah, I backed up only a few saves leaving the rest on the MC. I also found out that only the saves were corrupted, not the exploit. The exploit loads up fine when I insert the PS1 Disc. I'm guessing that the data corrupted because of a bug in ARMax, it's just strange that I didn't even take out my memory card and the data corrupted. I'm planning to format my memory card if I can't find a way as I can't even save data onto the memory card anymore. I'm still gonna wait a while, the data's still on there so I'm sure that it is possible, just not currently possible with the programs available. Anyway, thanks to the people who are trying to help me out.
If you have a back-up version of AR MAX, than that would happen to you. Like it did to me, Lukily, I solved the problem the formater. Than I deleted all the currupt files, than I got the saves off gamefaqs.com thats were near to mine and I put it on a cd and transferred to my PS2 memory card using swap magic. Read my sig on how to transfer memory saves from a cd to a memory card
