I am looking for a pre-modded PS2. I read that there is a mod chip that can be flashed so that the PS2 can load backups directly from a USB hard drive. I would like to completely avoid DVD's and CD's and play all backups from a HDD. I don't want to use HD-Advanced which I currently use, to boot up the PS2.

Can someone recommend a mod chip that completely eliminates the PS2 laser.
Can someone recommend a dealer that sells a pre-modded PS2 with the mod chip described above.

I dont think theres such thing. But I may be wrong. If your Laser is the problem, just buy a new one

I am going to buy a new unit so it's not a bad laser that
I'm worried about. I read in this forum that someone had a PS2 that booted from the mod chip and he didn't ever use or need a CD/DVD.

With the dms4 pro modchip you can. It lets you load up your games without a disc because it can put your hard drive in the ps2 explorer. So when you turn your ps2 on, You'll see your hard drive.

Thanks. Does the DMS4 Pro come pre flashed? If not where can I find the flash that allows me to boot up without a DVD? Thanks
