i recently bought a modded slim_ps2 from renchi.com

i burned madden nfl 2006 to dvd -- works fine on all tv sets

i burned smackdown_2006 & tony hawk

now here is my dilemma...

on my girlfriend's tv & her son's tv, both tony hawk & smackdown would not work correctly

after the playstation 2 logo, the game goes haywire.
i can make out the game but the title screen scrolls vertically at a blinding rate

** now here's the part that makes my blood boil **

i go back home, connect the slim_ps2 to my tv, & both games smackdown & tony hawk work perfectly

i thought it might be one of the three issues, but its not.

1. the two tv's @ my girlfriend's house have cable boxes [i dont]
2. it can't be the media [memorex dvd] b/c it works perfectly on my
t.v. set.
3. the damn ps2 is brand friggin' new!

any suggestions?
what in the hell could i be doing wrong

so how can i make sure my burns work in a tv set whether its PAL or NTSC?
