My Ps2 was working fine until i modded it. I have a v7 Duo2 SE ps2. now i cant play no games. it doesent even read the disc. well b4 it did untill i tried cleaning the lens/ the white gear trick. nothing worked. i put my ps2 motherboard on friends ps2 and it worked perfectly. what problems can my ps2 have? please help me.

you may want to try adjusting the dvd voltage on the bottom of the laser counter clockwise no more than 30 degrees. Take your system apart and remove the laser from the two bars holding in the dvd drive. But be careful, no to pull to hard to pull out the laser ribbon. Make sure you mark the 12 oclock position of the screw and the back of the laser so you know where you began. Turn it counterclockwise a little a time and put it back together and see that this is a trial and error....unless you own a ossciloscope sp? for precise calibration.....anyway let me know how it goes.....

I also have the Duo2 SE, my ps2 is a v5, maybe you are holding down the reset button for too long, that will turn the mod chip off. Maybe the programming of the chip has gone off, that happend to me once and I had to swap the chip.

Thanks for the posts guys. well it cant be the chip i 4got to mention that i tried my mainboard with my friends ps2 and it worked perfectly :P thanks though. i will try what u said twillman. i have been reading about the laser calibration. nah and i dont own a ossciloscope :P lol well thanks man ill come back with results

hey these are the things im supposed to be adjusting right? well which one is the DVD one and which is the CD one? left or right? and am i supposed to turn it counterclockwise from here? LOL u could see me in the picture :P

i have access to an oscilloscope. how would i use it to fix problem? also i dont have the white gear at the original place since i lost track of where it was and never marked it. also i messed aorund with the lens position goes on the handrails. would this affect anything? thanks
