My ps2 has model number: Scph 30004 R so it is either a V5 or V6

I have been doing the swap trick with my ps2 for some time now but last night I think I was too rough and the white cog went very far into right of the machine, the cog is not broken, I just can't get it back to its original position. As a result of this my disc tray wont open and after some time the blue LED switches off until the next reset.

same problem! we're desperate, basically it's just like the white tab is stuck at one point, any advice guys?

yes, but it will not help much. Unstick it.
That is the only way to get the tray open as far as i know. The white pin has to be in the correct locked position.
Maybe if you open up the PS2 you will be able to get at it more easily and possible get it back to the correct position.

Got the problem fixed! My cousin opened up the ps2 and opened the DVD rom up then he moved the white cog back to the original place. This did the job!
