backups wnt load with cheat device

I have magic replay, action replay, codbreaker....and when i try load games that i backed up or ones downloaded and burnt...theose wnt load....but ones my friend bought works....so simpy, home burnt backups wnt work but ones that are sold in game shops work...and those are backups....
i use mitsubishi dvd+....would that be the problem??because the ones that work are like printed just like the original copies....and i assume they are brandless.

You need Swap Magic or a modchip to load PS2 backups. I think ARMAX can do it somehow, but I'm not familiar with that. Swap Magic is $20-30 and can load your backups fine. It's a very good product.

oh.....i forgot to say i have matrix infity mod chip.....
its just that cheat device dnt load backups prply....but i dnt kno y my good qualitied dvdr+ backups dnt work when cheapo 10$ ones i bought works....

So it won't boot your cheat devices, or do you mean it'll boot your cheat devices, but then won't boot your games with the cheats?

say like im trying with the backups i bought....so i set up the cheat codes...then select start game with cheat codes...then it tells me to put in game disc...so i chuck in the disc and then it loads game with cheats....and everything works great....
now if i try the games that are my own backups...(i.e downloaded or backed from originial) after i put in the game disc...it just freezes..(with AR2)...with ar max and coebreaker it just says cannot load game disc, pleas try again...but no matter how many times i try.. same thing happens...
so im tihnking that it might be my dvdrs or maybe my burning process went wrong.

Do your backups boot normally, without trying to use cheats? You have to flash the Matrix Infinity in order to play backups. Have you ever flashed the chip before?

If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc.

If you really want to do the PS2 backup thing right, pick up some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim's. I only burn to TYG02, the 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's. So far I've never had a lag, skip, freeze, or boot failure since I switched to Taiyo Yuden's. With results like that, why would I use anything else?
41. Q. I have a DMS 4 or Matrix Infinity and I can't play backups, what's going on?
A. You need to flash the chip with the latest firmware. Download it, burn to CD-R using the Alcohol 120% burning guide posted earlier in the thread, put it in your PS2, and follow the onscreen prompts.

i can play EvERY backup fine without using and cheat decive........but i just wanna use some cheats...then the problem comes in....

you say that when your friend uses cheats with their backups it works, would you be able to ask them how they did it and if possible do exactly what they did to get your games to work?
i don't think it's the media that is the problem, it's the way you are booting the backups i don't have a modchip so i would not know how to boot backups with codes enabled and my guide only covers for swap magic I'm afraid. it would help if you gave us more detail on what you are doing when you try to boot them with codes and it would be another good idea if you asked your friend how they booted their backups with codes too.
it would also be a good idea to put those media in DVD Decrypter to get the Disc ID if you are not sure what they of media they are.
i have never heard of magic replay lol but the best ones to use is AR max and codebreaker. i think your problem lies with backing up the cheat disc they have to be burned a certain way to work i think.

It should work with Action Replay MAX EVO, but you have to use it with CD Gen

I've read your tutorial on that and I still have that issue with the sectors. Another set back is that I don't have swap magic. Where would you buy that? ONline?

get dvd loader then you can use codes with swap magic. here is how to do it:
Cheat Device > Swap Magic > DVD Loader > Swap Magic > Game

You don't need DVD Loader with SM 3.6. You need it with Swap Magic 2.0.
