hi
i just modded a ps2 v7 with a duo 2. it worked for about 20-30 mins then lost picture & sound & will not eject. i have checked all the fuses, checked for any solder across the bios connections, turned the eject ribbon around (end to end)in case there was any damage to it & now completley removed the chip & desoldered all the connections. yet it is still doing the same. when you turn it on the green power light & eject button lights up. if you press eject it wont eject & goes into stand by after about 5 seconds. does anybody have ANY ideas as to what may be causing this?? if there was solder across one of the bios connections (i dont think there was but just in case) & it has now been desoldered do you know if it will cause permanent damage?? ANY help you can offer is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance Graham

i had a ps2 v10 and installed a magic v. i installed the wires completely wrong and after about a month my ps2 didn't do anything. it just stopped working. 5 seconds and my ps2 would go into standby mode. i opened it up and my board was fried. i got a new motherboard from ebay and intalled the magic v properly and it works fine. try getting a new board.

keep trying your current board and your ps2 will play a game after about 30 tries. but when you're playing for about 20 mins your ps2 will turn off.

another suggestion is to look at your power on button and it's wires. you said 5 seconds. if you read the manual you'll see it says hold the power on button for 5 seconds to go to standby mode. so check to see if something went wrong with that. i have no clue about the eject button. i think it's because you can't eject if the power on button sends a signal to go to standby mode. so it just might be that one button. try each suggestion and see if they work.

i hope this helped.
