Did flip top install kill my PS2?

I have just purchased swap magic 3.6 with flip top. Installed flip top (into PS2 7XXXX series) as instructed and NOTHING, the console is DEAD!

Power led lights up but it wont read any discs backups or original? Even tried reinstalling orignal flip top - now that doesn't even work?

My kid is devasted, ruined his xmas gift... any help appreciated.

Check to see if any ribbons/cables/wires are lose, ok.

Check if any cables are loose and if it still doesnt work the laser must of died (It isnt covered in sonys warranty)
