Hi this is my guide on how to boot ps2 games with swap magic and ipod
NOTE I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BREAK YOUR IPOD OR PS2 DO THIS AT OWN RISK
First you have to have these things
:ipod with 20 gig hard drive or more
: A ps2 with swap magic 3.6 and one of the tools
: A computer with a dvd reader
First what you want to do is use a tool to copy youre ipod ( this is optional) I used copypod just google it.
Second get youre ipod booted up with windows and click to Start MY computer icon. Then open youre ipod folder Usually G:/ right click select new folder then name it capitol "SWAPMAGIC" without quatations
and dump youre games into the swap magic folder NOTE you can only put up to four games on the drive rename the slus files or scus files to SMBOOT0.ELF in the order you dump them on your ipod like SMBOOT1.ELF or SMBOOT2.elf or SMBOOT3.elf ok once your done with that turn off your computer and take the USB cable and plug it out along with youre ipod next turn youre ipod on and plug it in to your ps2 using the USB cable and make sure it tight. Next boot up swap magic DVD Or cd i used DVD and when it says load program make sure youre ipod is on and dont press anything, press UP+L1 to load your first game and press x then UP+L2 to boot the second and press x and then UP+R1 to load the 3rd and press x and then UP+R2 for the 4th and press x. Please dont put this anywhere else i created but please share it with your freinds
PLEASE REPLY IF YOU have problems

Thats awesome will try later...
would the same thing work if you had a ps2 game stored on a psp (if you had the space?) or even a usb hdd?

I have a couple of questions for this (since I didn't know about elf's with swap magic until about a month ago). Does this method work with any USB hard drive? Would this work with just an Ipod hard drive (as in no case/lcd/etc)? Would this work on those 5gb Seagate portable USB hard drives? What's the biggest/smallest size hard drive you can use for this?

Thanks.
BTW, if you have Swap Magic and want more than 4 games on your hard drive (it obviously has to have more memory than just 20GB), you can do it this way:
Supplies:
-Empty CD OR USB flash drive w/ memory transferring program (such as Max Drive)
-Independence Compiler (http://console.iscentral.net/download.php?view.183)
-Extra memory card
-PSX game
Go through the Independence Compiler (adding USB Advance (http://www.sksapps.com/hd/USBADVN.zip) while doing it + getting scus/sles/slus/etc from you PSX game) and install it on your empty/extra memory card using CD/pen drive method as explained in compiler. Load PSX game, load USB extreme, load PS2 game off of hard drive. You still don't have to swap, it just takes more effort/supplies in the beginning to get more game loading capability.

BTW, do stuff like USB extreme and USB advance load PS1 games off a hard drive? If not, is there something that does?

In your sig it says "v7 ps2 nosolder mod swap magic", right? How did you install the chip? I tried for hours trying to push the cable in and all I ended up doing was frying my circuit board damaging the 2nd, smaller cable (which I got fixed/replaced for $50 together). Is there some special technique you need to do in order to push the cable in?

dont pay attention to my last post k magus 57 do this instead take a screwdriver and open ur ps2 take the top off and lay everything to the side and remember u could risk burning ur ps2 again if u install the no solder mod. Then take any cd and lay it on the right hand side of the ps2 where u think the disk tray is and using a pencil trace around that cd then draw another circle around the circle u already drew about a inch outside of it. so u will have two circles u want the out side one then carefully drill two holes right on the outside circle and then cut with a saw. after ur done set it aside or if it looks crooked or bad use a file to clean it up.then go to the unit and remove the black screws on top of the cd drive and remove the white disk from the plastic u removed from the top of the drive. U can force the diskout by braking the little tabs that hold it and then ur almost done. put the ps2 together but dont include the drive cover And BE CAREFUL NOT TO SQUEEZE OR CLAMP THE ON OFF AND EJECT BUTTON CABLE.
Then u see the laser and then insert swapmagic and put the white disk on top the right way and start playing the way u wood witha fliptop.

I don't really want to take my PS2 apart that much. I didn't really understand what you said in your 1st post on the modchip, can you clarify? (How did you install it/what did you use to install it/how did it burn your PS2/why did it burn your PS2?)

Sorry i got u confuzed i installed it by using instructions from any modchip site. I used tweezer. And the reason it burned my ps2 is because these things are like 5 years old and we buy them round these days and before they were made real now its some kreep in his basement makin this he doesnt care about ur ps2. I found out it burned right around where u install it so go with my instructions with a fake fliptop save ur self $200

I bought the newest solderless modchip (where the ports for the ribbon cable are right if front of the part that plugs into the PS2, like this: http://www.modchip.ca/store/product.php?productid=16142&cat=269&page=2 , which is also the place where I bought it), but I think it still burnt my PS2, but that might have been because I tried using it while the disc eject tray ribbon cable wasn't plugged in. I paid $50 for a new circuit board and to get it installed.
BTW, where did you buy your tweezers (I'm too lazy to look) or what type did you buy, is it all metal or does it have rubber grips and the end?

One elf is called loadere and the other is swbfrnt2.elf. Please help, with call of duty 2 I can get to the loading screen but then it stops loading?? Thank for the help, also what programs can you load with this??
