Repair reset/eject button on v4-v7 PS2

Hello. Has n e 1 knows how to repair the rest/eject button on the v4-v7 ps2 consoles. Mine's not working. I've tested the ribbon with a multimeter and it was ok.

The cause of it was the console was switched on, from the back, and while i was re-attaching the ribbon into the rest/eject button, the standby light came on for awhile then went out. Can n e body help??

if the cable is not damaged/broken all you have to do is plug it in correctly.

NAH.... I've tried that already. I think it's the reset/eject button. I'm gonna get me a new one, then i'll know what's really the problem. Thanks, PAL.
