Hi!
just wanted to know if it's possible to build a "fake" memory card for the PS2 from a MMC or SD or CF flash card because i have a few spare ones... can it be done?
i simply can't buy a card at the moment... :(

Thanks,
Tzvika

Sony has what is called a 'Magic Gate' on all their MCs and you'll need that gate (which can't be cloned) to get any sort of device to work, even with the converters to use the smart media cards, you still need an original MC for the Magic Gate. an 8 Meg card only costs 20 bucks........i find it hard to belive you can't save that much up.

as i mentioned ALL expanders require the use of an original Sony memory card for the Magic Gates, the one you linked to included Mike. the guy doesnt want to buy an original so this makes him SOL for any sort of memory saving.

thnx for the quick answers.
i googled magic gate and it's some sort of encryption, so building is not an option :(
i didn't wanna buy since the small size vs big price is annoying...

20 bucks for an 8 meg, that isnt a bad price. i've had a single 8 meg card for 6 yrs with 310 games and i've yet to run outta space..........and if i did then i'd just copy everything over to the USB or HDD and keep going with it.

Buy the 8mb card then go to the site I posted!

£35 altogether for 40mb! Not bad eh.

(Not sure what £35 is in US! Probably abut $55 or something
