Playing NTSC games on an old PAL TV

After thinking it over for a while, I'm ready to buy Swap Magic 3.6 + a flip top cover to play imported games. But there's something I'm unsure about, and browsing the stickies and threads hasn't really helped. Basically, my TV is too old to support the NTSC format: it'll play NTSC games, but only in black and white.

So what happens if I use an NTSC game with Swap Magic? I'm assuming it'll play in black and white only. Is there an option to force NTSC games into PAL mode, and, if not, is there anything I can do, short of buying a new TV?

I think if your TV doesn't support both than Swap Magic will
not help you out as far as it playing in color.
But a converter for your TV may help or solve the problem.
It would convert the signal before it reached the TV.

Right...

So Swap Magic can't convert an NTSC game into PAL, I would have to get a converter to do that?

on my NTSC tv, i downloaded a PAL game and forgot to patch it, but when i switched video mode from swap magic to NTSC, it was fine, but on normal, it was black white and flikery
