I keep looking everywhere for info and cant find a diagram,

If I was hooking up a second computer I would need to stick in a wireless card. well ps2 there is no room for that.

I just dont understand how this can be done.

Any info at all would be nice

Well I found out what I needed thats anyways I need a wireless device that lets the router talk to the PS2.

The guide I found says you can run a wire from the router to the ps2.
instead of useing a wireless device.

well what would be the point of that,

So even tho it is wireless I can also use a cable instead?

yes, you can use a crossover cable (aka RJ-45 or ethernet)
or get a USB wireless adapter, like my wireless Linksys router
came with. They run about $30-$40
a crossover cable that is 50 feet long is about $13

Thank you for the help as always !

you wouldn't need crossover cable to go from router to the ps2 or pc. it'd be
cable modem --regular RJ45-- WAN port on router
port1 of router --regular RJ45-- ps2
port2 of router --regular RJ45-- PC

The wireless device you'd need to connect the ps2 wirelessly is called a wireless gaming adapter and is pretty expensive (last I checked around $100)

Most if not all wireless routers have at least 4 wired ports.

NTSC DNAS threads.

ok hope this clears it up.
this is a wireless router

this is a wireless usb adapter to work with it.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6825206&type=produc...

this is a crossover cable in case you do not want to spend all the money on the adapter and the PS2 is at least in the same room as your PC is.

this is how you hook it all up, but the router manual will tell you step by step how to do this. Just substitute the xbox for PS2, they hook up the exact same way

so in basics to describe the hook up.
1. cable in to cable modem
2. ethernet cable from cable modem to internet port on router
3. then you hook a crossover cable from the router to the PC's
ethernet port, and one to the PS2's port using one of the available ports on the router. Setting up all the IP settings on the PS2 is another thing, you will have to learn this to make a connection. Just plugging in cables alone will not do it. So i would start searching for guides that tell you how. I know how to do this for the Xbox, but am not sure if the PS2 is exactly the same, but it should be.

I have read that you should use a strait through ethernet cable to hook the PS2 to the router. I am not 100% sure that is true but
I used a crossover cable and it worked fine for me.

steimy, you don't have to have a crossover cable with routers. You can just use a regular ethernet cable (which is usually cheaper then crossover cable I've found).

and this is the adapter I was talking about

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5943517&type=produc...

maybe both our ways will work.

NTSC DNAS threads.
