is there some sort of software that will let me play games off of a hard drive connected to my ps2 via hd enclosure? or will i have to go another way to use a hard drive instead of game disks?

Which version PS2 do you have?

If you have the non-slim version, you can install an IDE HDD in the back of the console and use a program to backup games onto it. I think there are 2 programs you can use. HDloader and HDadvance. I have never used these programs so I don't know if they're still around but this is just what I remember.

If you have a slim-line ps2 then I'm not sure how a HD can be hooked up externally.

GOod luck

Hi,

at a slimline, you can't put a HD, not internally, because there isn't any place to put the HD. extern maybe, but I don't think so, unless you have an original sony ;)

cheers

You can hook up a USB HDD (or HDD in USB enclosure) to your slim then buy a program called USBextreme but loading times are very slow and lots of games arent compatible. Theres a program called HDconnect that allows use of an IDE hard drive but it involves pulling the slim apart and soldering right inside it.
