I just want a reliable chip to play my backups(tired of using boot discs) I use a HD sometimes and im told pro will boot it by itself? but if I go with lite I can just stick my hd loader disc in and thats it? not a big deal.2Mbyte Flash chip onboard for storage of Homebrew applications on the pro chip does'nt really matter if all you want a chip for is to play your backups? 128kb Flash chip onboard is all you need to upgade the chip right?

The pro, indeed, has a built in hdd manager, but if you choose to use hd loader, then you might as well get the lite.
I personally got the pro so i'd never need to use any kind of hd boot disc again

ya thats not really a big deal to me I only use my Hd for like 3 games its only a 20 gig hd

the Pro just has more features because it uses ToxicOS rather than just the ToxicBIOS. You can go to the Toxic website (currently down for construction) and look at the features for each. You could also check out the DMS Forums under 3rd party flashes and they usually have the features of both the BIOS and OS listed.

Most of the OS features have to do with the use of an HDD.
The newest release V0.4 even has an integrated cheat system so you can store cheats that you can use with games played from the HDD.
I say with the small difference in price on most sites, usually $10 or less, then i would just spend the extr $10 and get the pro. Why not have the best they offer.
And i would make sure the site is selling the newest version,

the newest version is 0.41 and supports cheating from both HDD and CD/DVD 0.4 woudnt work with most disk based games.

as for the Lite needing a disk to boot that's not the case, the Lite will boot via Dev mode so you do not need a disk to boot to the HDD.

That was just released last month. I have seen people say that they have ToxicOS V0.41 but have not yet seen anywhere you can get it as the Toxic website has been down for a few days now.
But the previous versions were V0.3 and V0.2
i want to see it with my own eyes before i say V0.41
