Really weird problem. Just got the new slim SCPH-70003 from the PS service in UK ( replaced my old broken one ). I got Swap Magic 3.6 and a some copies of my original games. When I play originals everything works fine, but when I play copies my console just freezes.
All copies hang after about 20-30 minutes - screen just freezes, laser stops moving ( stays right at the begging of the disc ), disc is still spinning.
The longest I played sth was 2 hrs after that everything just freezes.
Is it possible that PS2 is overheating when reading only the copies but works fine with the originals ??

make sure theres no scrtaches on the discs or finger marks as that what happens wipe them before you start to play them. i have a lot of copies with scratches on and they wont play

They are all fine - no scratches. I played them just one week before on my old PS2 without any problems whatsoever. Besides if they were scratched PS2 wouldn't read them at all in the first place and not read them but then freeze after 20 mins.

they would read them but they will frezze all the time but i dont know what the problem is with yours as mine works fine might be the laser sorry i cant help hope you get it sorted

I am very sure it is the media you are using.. use some 8x Verbatim and burn at 4x and I can promise you will notice a big difference!
