Hi i have a ps2 that i got running with a couple cd games(blue bottoms) but the ps2 doesnt read dvd games and i have mostly dvd games so could somebody pleaase help me i woold apreciate it. PS i have tryed putting rubbing alcohol on the laser

I'll take this down WHEN micro$oft decides to stop being lazy and make the capcom fighting games backwards compatible with the 360 dammit!!!

Hi blue jet um I tryed adjusting the laser but it still plays some of my cd based games how ever when i put a dvd game and flip the ps2 so the ps2 sign is pointing to the carpet it reads some dvd games-
Is their anything else any guesses whats wrong

flipping it upside down puts the laser closer to the disk (due to wear/play in the laser unit chassis) you can adjust it closer as long as it's not touching the disk.

google laser adjusting for ps2s and you'll find detailed pics on how to adjust the cogs to raise the laser up.

flip it upside down, pull out the 8 screws, set it back upright, lift the top cover off being careful with the reset/eject cable. on top of the DVD drive there are 4 tiny black screws, remove these and lift the top off, the laser is now exposed, there is a white cog in the back of the drive bay that adjusts the laser angle (up/down)
