God of War problem (confusion release)

I have the confusion release of God of War (DVD5) and in some places (cliffs of madness for example) the laser goes mad. It's going back and forth loading stuff all the time and the music just stops playing and then starts playing again, and then stops etc. I heard there is some problems with this release and I was wondering if there is something I can do to fix it?

I don't have any problems whatsoever with other games... it's just this one.
I'm using Swap Magic 3.6 and Verbatim DVD-R

I downloaded the PAL version of this game and it plays so much better than the confusion release. I can barely hear the laser working and there are no long loading times either. Stay away from the confusion release and get another one.
