hi i have a ps2 scph-39001 and i the modchip is a magic 3.1 and the problem is that it used to say DISC READ ERROR and after i opened it it doesnt have any audio/video please helpme should i buy a broken ps2from ebay with the warranty seal still there and send it to sony and then transfer the parts i need.

p.s. where can i find a cheap working ps2 that is not on ebay

What i think you should do is check that all the leads in the PS2 work fine, not only that wiggle the video port at the back of the PS2 to see if anything comes up on the TV.

Buying a broken one from ebay wont work because sony only gives you a 30 day warranty. You would be spending as much money as a new ps2.
