my friend has a movie which plays in black and white. his console is v5 PAL and the movie he has is NTSC.

the only modification he has is swap magic. when he used it to play the movie he got the error not a valid ps2 disc.

i did a little bit search on google which basically told me i shud get dvd region x or a good modchip.

so anyway he can watch the movie in colour ?

I downloaded Deliverance in PAL and it doesn't work on my modded PS2. I have a legit MI, I tried adjusting the video modes to region 2 and 4 for PAL, and it just said invalid video format. It would load then go black and give me that message. He could patch the movie to PAL. I'm not really sure how to do that, I know Nero Vision or Nero Recode can, I'm not positive which. The easiest way is to have a DVD Player which can support dual formats. I have a $40 Aspire DVD player which handles PAL discs fine. The PS2 is simply a low end DVD Player.

i though of patching as well but wasn't sure.

i think he has dvd writer on his pc. i will tell him to watch it on his pc.

a low end dvd player!!, damn it, i forked out £200 around $300 for it-lol

Yeah, Nero shoud do the trick. If a movie you have is PAL and your default Nero settings are to do movies in NTSC it will give you the option when you go to burn it to either keep it in the original PAL format, or convert it to your default NTSC .
