Ok.......I have been here reading for hrs.......and still a bit confused about what to do..... maybe cause I am female....lol...and dont know much about tec talk.
I have the back up of my PS game already burnt. When I insert it into the console it says "please insert a PS game or a PS2 game.

What do I now need to do to fix this problem?????? DO I need the swapmagic with the slidecard???????

PS i have the new slim PS2 System

yes, you need to modify your PS2 so it can play back ups.
You will need either Swap Magic and a fliptop (not the one that it comes with), Swap Magic and a slimtool/Ghost Switch/Magic Switch, they all do the same thing really, stop the PS2 from resetting when you open the original fliptop to swap discs.

Or have a good modchip installed (DMS4 Pro or Matrix Infinity)

Once you get those then you can move onto burning games and seeing if they work.
