I was gonna buy the swap disk but decided to go with a mod chip instead. I didn't want to have to screw around with swaping. I bought the Modbo2.1. My question is does the firmware on it ever have to be updated, and if so how? Where I got it from all it says is The Modbo v2.1 is based upon the latest Matrix Infinity firmware v1.54. I was searching around and I did see that you can down load firmware for these Matrix chips. I take it the modbo is just a clone of it?? Thanks

Mobdo is just a fake rip off of the Matrix Infinity chip.. apparently there are no updatesfor the firmware..

if you had done some research and bought a good chip like Matrix Infinity or DMS4 the the answer is yes, they do update their firmware and add new feature a couple time a year. the updates are also free.

But with that chip you are just stuck with what you have. If it does everything you need it to then no worries.
