Can i use the PS2 HDD as a PC hard drive?

i may be getting rid of my ps2 and i have the HDD would it be useless or can i make it a pc 40 gig hdd?

HP AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4Ghz
1.5 Gig DDR SDRAM PC3200
200 Gig Harddrive 7200RPM
Nvidia Geforce 8600GT 512meg(PCI-E)
Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition

Yes. The harddrives for the PC are exactly the same as those which are used for the PS2.

so i can plug my ps2 hdd in my pc and have 40 extra gigs on my PC?

yes, should work no problem, you will of course have to reformat it as the PS2 and PC use a different structure.

how do i format a HDD? and not my whole pc? and will i have to change the slave or what ever? i moved this little prong to master or somthen when i use to import files to it for my ps2.
