I was checking the FAQ and surfing around the fourms and i havent found the answer to this question..

Is it possible to make a backup of Ps2 or Xbox game without any modchips, Swap Magic, ext.

A certain burner? Software?

If this is not possible... Why not?
What stops me from backing up my games without the use of mod chips ect. ?

There is some kind of hack for the xbox, but i don't know much about it. You have to buy something for the ps2 though. PS2 discs have a security code in a spot that your computer cannot read or write.

Has to be a reason why you cant make a duplacate of the original..

What is it that they put on the disc that stops you from making a backup?

if you look on the underside (towatds the inside of the disc) of any ps2 or xbox game there is a little barcode. If you look in the same spot of any Blank DVD, there is not. There is no burner that can put one on a blank DVD, and unless you feel like paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for your own machine to make cd's with them, it is impossible. Although, there is a hack on the xbox, all i know is that it is awesome, u can play n64 games and stuff with the hack,i think, my friend ha s one, but im not sure if its a hack or soft mod...... but i know nothing else abt it. If I was you, I would get my hands on 25 dollars, and buy swap magic, then just make your own little slide card, all you need to do that is an old gift card or something....I really wish tht i could help you more.....but you can put a hard drive on your ps2......all you need is like a 40 gb harddrive, which is abt 30-50 dollars (depending on where u get it) and if I was you i would get external, unless you have a network adapter, and then you will be able to rip games to the harddrive and save them.
