hi all i need some help for a change ive brought a v7 ps2 of ebay for mother-in-laws b-day

when no disks in its fine!! but when you put a disk its starts to grind and sounds like vibrateing on a bring

loading times are very long
when the games not loading it fine so i tryied gta sa (contanting loading off the disk is the reason on choosing this game)
it sounded like it was going to takes off
the loading time was fine to start game but after that i could even get the first movies to play evenly
the game play perfect on my v10

when i load swap magic i can make a cup of tea in the time its take to get to the boot screen also fine on v10/14

any ideas cos i dont want to give it to her then 1 week later its dead

Sounds like your laser is bitin' the bullet! I'd venture to say that you're probably gonna have to replace it. You could also try cleaning it to see if that helps.
