i do remind you i have the older ps2 console so how do i get linux can i used a burned version

You can't...

Using the software by itself is like trying to drive a car without gas.

You need the HDD that is provided with the package, but not just any HDD, it has to be that one that is made by Sony FOR the Linux kit.

Since you have a "fat" PS2, you can use the Linux Kit, but Sony has stopped sellign them in retail stores and stuff, so the only place you can get it at is ebay.

You cannot get Linux onto any PS2 that I know of. The slim PS2 also does not have a hard drive.
