P.S. : I can find a brand new fat PS2 . Damn me :))

How the hell is the slim better?
As you can get a fat ps2 then definitely do, its so much easier to do it with and if you can figure out the Memory Card exploit you dont have to pay for HDadvance software saving $30.

Nope the "exploit" was fixed in the all the slim versions.

So HD combo has the same speed, compatibility with fat ps2 HDD. It's also cheaper to buy (around 250 bucks for a whole pack). A new fatty is freaking expensive (250 for the console alone). What should i do ?

hmm thats a tough one, i really have no idea what the compatibility of HDcombo is, speeds are the same.
For hdcombo you would need to either do some soldering to the slims mobo or get a somebody else to ($50-$100?). Then theres all the laser isues slims have had, ive you got the latest possible version you would be fine.
The fat ps2 just makes it alot easier to setup, and if for whatever reason you want to copy something to it from your computer, then it is easily accessed.
One other thing is updating hdcombo, how is it done? would you have to buy a new disc each time a better version comes out? with fat ps2 you could just setup the exploit, whenever theres a new hdloader just copy new file over.

EDIT: you might even be able to find a cheap faulty console on auction sites that will play ps1 games but thats it, and use the exploit.
My ps2 hasnt been able to read ps2 games for nearly 2 years and i still do more with it than most people who have high functionality modechips.
