I'm posting this here because I'm not sure whether it's the svcd itself or my computer going whacky. What could cause this problem:

I extract the .bin file from a series of .rar files and then open the .bin with ISOBuster (I want to just extract the .mpeg to watch it on the comp) and when I go to extract the file it says a bunch of sectors can't be read. If I press ignore all, the .mpeg that gets extracted can't be played by any programs.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

when u right click on the file you want extracted in isobuster select the option 'extract and filter M2F2 mpeg frames' then all will be sweet.

on the other hand if you only want to watch the mpeg on your pc there are software dvd players that can load the mpeg2 file straight from the bin image so you wont have to extract at all. i cant remember what progs are able to do this tho so you'll have to google for it ;)

If ISO-Buster says that a Bunch of Sectors can not be read then that Means that the Bin file is Corrupted and there is Nothing you can do about it accept you Might try Burning the Bin to CD-R and see if it plays in your DVD Player but I doubt it....

Sinexo: All you need installed to Play Mpeg2/SVCD Files is a Mpeg2 decoder...Just install DVD Playing Software Like WinDVD or PowerDVD and you will have the correct decoders installed...

I had the same problem but..... i found a way better program than ISO buster.

http://www.vcdgear.com/download.html

An excellent program and far superior to ISO buster, simple to use, just select the appropriate file type to extract from /to and its done in less than a min.
