I've used intervideo and now roxio media creator 7 and have had the same issue with the mpeg2 movies I'm trying to playback on my standalone dvd players.

I have been converting the files into mpeg 2 format then inporting them into the roxio media creator 7 DVD builder. When I go to burn it says the file is to large and inorder to fit it onto the DVD RW disc I must decide on a lower quality setting. It then compresses it and starts to burn.

When I play them in the standalone dvd player they freeze about forty five minutes into the movie and the screen then goes black as if it's done playing the movie. I know the movie is two and a half hours in length.

When I used the intervideo bundled into our system which we bought a month ago the movies played through on our stand alone players even though the audio/video was out of sync. Now the audi/video is in sync by using their platinum version and later roxio media creator 7 but I'm having problems with the freezing in playback.

I'm using the same media (HP 8x +Rs) and I checked to make sure they were compatible with my zenith xbv 243 player.

Do I need to compress the movie before putting it into roxio's dvd builder for burning?
