Windows 10 preview warns against Chrome, Firefox installations

article published on 13 September, 2018

A Windows 10 Insiders preview is apparently prompting users when they try to install Chrome or Firefox, pushing Microsoft Edge instead. Those who are testing the Windows 10 builds noted that when they downloaded Google's Chrome browser or Mozilla's Firefox browser, they were prompted with a message when they tried to run the installers. It's not as bad as Google trying to stuff Chrome down everyone's throat

Actually it is, and even worst with other things they have forced, the system bloating fast, creating an windows.old version without your knowledge when updating and hosing your new Windows folder system, forcing updates, scattering the controls that use to be somewhat simple to get to now found in alternate locations like Settings and these are only a few of the BS things MS has done in 10. I've removed 10 from several of my machines and gone back to 7, 10 truly sucks.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing, going back to Windows 7, although my laptop is five years old now maybe I'll just dump Windows OS's and buy one with Linux installed on it. I'm sick of MS and their BS.

My laptop is 7 years old and 7 works great on it. I did have a little issue finding drivers that would work on it with a device or two but my Acer likes Windows 7.

Google on a M$ system constantly asks you to update to a modern browser
when they first started doing it deleting the window was easy now it's not worth doing as they work around anything you do, Google obviously can't understand "No Thanks"

This doesn't mean I approve of M$, if the way they are going continues I will be completely migrating to Linux, in the mean time I think we should all be using no tracking browsers or at least be taking advantage of the "In Private Page" options

Google is bad they track you even when you turn off tracking and location senders, there is no doubt Suckerberg is a bad character especially when you look at what he is doing with our private information. I get what you're saying about Google.
