My system:
Dell Precision 530
Dual 1.7 Xeons
512MB
280GB storage
XP Pro SP2
Here's the problem, and it's only started happening after installing SP2. During the encoding phase, the application sometimes crashes with the error of "The parameter is not correct" and other times, the application just abruptly exits. It seems to crash at around 11% every time.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Have you tried reinstalling DVD Shrink after the update to SP2?

You know, everything started working much better after I disabled the Firewall service.
Let me ask you a question... Does Nero affect the encoding phase of DVD Shrink, or is that just DVD Shrink?

Nero does not affect DVD Shrink encoding phase.
It can however create some issues depending on the version and system used (i.e, "Copy Protection Error").

Great link there ddlooping, much appreciated. Not exactly a short list either.
I wan't planning on upgrading until I absolutely have to. Microsoft has a hell of a way "improving" the computing experience with their service packs.

Nephilim, I have been told the latest version of Nero (v6..20?) fixed this issue. ;)
