hello all :)

im new to this dvd burning business and have a few questions to ask.

i have looked to see if they have been asked before but i coudnt find them

anyway.....im on broadband so when i go to burn a dvd my internet connection is allways on.

am i better of unpluggin the cable?

also is it best to have no progs runnin in the background?

last question haha is it true you should defrag your hard drive after every dvd burn?

any other hints or tips much apreicated :)

1. I don't see any advantage in disabling your Broadband connection.

2. If you are burning a DVD it is best to leave your computer and let it get on with it. Best not to run other programs while burning. You can disable programs that run in the background which load when windows boots up but I wouldn't unless I was getting problems (which would be very very rarely!)

3. Defrag your drive after every burn??? Naw!!! I don't think so. Although there is nothing wrong with a monthly Defrag.

If you follow the guides in this forum then you shouldn't have too many problems.

I also use a p3 gateway, 450mhz w/ 384mb sdram ... and I don't shut anything off.

I only defrag when I need to.
