For some reason when I append a two part movie that is in avi format and save it to an avi file it explodes to a 20gb file does anyone know why or what I can do to fit this on a dvd disc the files only register 700mb each any help is appreciated thanks.

please do a search for "divx compression."

open file with virtual dub and go to video and make sure full compression is checked
then check on compression
then click on divx 5.1.1. codec
then configure
then in the box kbps you should reduce that number by like half of what it is
then click ok
then click on audio
then full processing mode
then audio again
then compression
then click on first or second mpeg layer 3 and look for 96 kb 48000 12k/sec something like that
click on that and then options and uncheck the display input and output video
file and start dubbing
