i want to buy a modchip for my ps2 that can play backup movies in vcd format on a cd-r, also i want to play my backed up Games in both cd-r format and dvd-r format, any suggestions would be much appreciated and for as cheap as possible
First off lets give the bad news. No chip will allow you to play VCD on a ps2. You just simply can't play VCD on a ps2. But the good news is that almost any chip will play back ups for both cd-r and DVD-r. I suggest you go with the Duo 2 se chip. Its cheap and it does the job perfectly. Wow thats great thanks, maybe ive got it wrong then, i have a cd writer, so what format should i put the movie onto the cd-r using my burner, also does that chip let me play game backups
The PS2 cannot play movies on CD-R's natively. There is the PS2 Reality Media Player you can run on the PS2 after you have modded it to play movies in various PC formats but the chip itself does not enable CD-R movie playback.
Yes the chip does, like I said in my first post. The reality media player is just a software program thats lets you play various PC format media. Like mp3, mpg, divx, Xvid etc. etc...
