HELP!, Tray won't CLose magic 3.1

Okay, i just installed the magic 3.1 chip. We were super careful with the solders but in somecases we have to use the material to remove solder. All in all we think we did a good job.

Now i plug it in and am try to play a regular game.

I turn it on.... The blue light blinks and the tray opens up.
I put in the game, but when i hit eject again, IT DOES NOTHING!

Also, i haven't seen the blue boxes of the sony menu thingy and nothing has really displayed.

I hear whirring and the regular ps2 sounds but i can't get the damn tray to go back in..
