Will a ver. 4 fliptop/swap magic 2.0 work with a PS2 model 50001?

Just got a new pS2 and was thinking of taking my fliptop off my old PS2 and putting it on the new one. From what I've read I guess 50001 is a ver. 9 maybe? Will this work or will I have to buy a different fliptop & Swap magic set?

it will work with some modification: http://ps2cover.com/v9modification.gif
Your swap magic dvd will work, but the cd might not work (depending on what version you have).
