I just installed Windows XP Pro (I know,what I was thinking!) Anyways now I can't get My Nero to burn Cds at all.
I face 2 problems
When I put my samsung 48x CD-R ,all it says is 'Please insert an empty medium' It doesnt matter how many different samsung cds I put it says the same
Secondly I tried burning a Samsung CD-RW 80, I didndt get an empty recorder message but both times it stopped burning after 4 minutes.
I upgradged my nero to 5.5.10.56 but that didnt solve the prob too.
Does that mean that there is a porblem with my CD Burner and not the ahead software?
For your symptoms I'd suggest installing an ASPI layer. ASPI is a driver layer that sits between your burner and software. Here's a link to the download and instructions:

I did what u suggested and downloaded the 1.8 version but it doesnt install correctly.This is what it says
