Editing SOundtrack in DVD Movies

Hi all. My first post to the forum

I have a 5 year old son who wants to watch the Blues Brothers (15) all the time. There is far too much swearing in it to leave him watching the movie on his own so I have to sit there with my finger over the mute button every time.

Is it possible to edit out bits of DVD movie soundtracks or insert silence over the speech? I'm willing to spend a bit of cash to get there but any help sincerely appreciated.
