I keep getting I/O error I have tried just about every thing I can think of. I have updated my firmware; I have even tried two other original copies of the same DVD. And I still get the I/O ERROR it get to 39% complete and then stalls. If anyone can help would greatly be appreciated. The DVD I am trying to back up is Dragonball GT vol 9.

your original is either scratched, dirty, or has errors (that cant be corrected).

Yes but I tried three diffrent orignals and they all did the same thing at the pame point during the ripping process.

That's not good! Decrypter will throttle the read speed way down when it encounters errors so either you've managed to try a whole string of bad originals or your laser lens may be dirty. Have you tried cleaning the laser lens?
Do you get this with any other titles or just Dragonball?

I have tried a laser lens cleaner, but it happens in bolth drives (sony DVD drive and OptoRite burnner) at the same point. It has only happened when I tried to back up Dragonball GT vol 9 all other volumes backedup just fine.

Hi,
If it just happens with one particular disc at the same point in both drives chances are it has some corrupt data on it which is not uncommon.
You might try setting Decrytper to ignore read erros and see what happens :)

the thing is it has happned at the same point with 3 diffrent originals. that what I find very werid.

I am having the same problems, but when trying to rip my backups. Using Ritek G04 Media. Have tried both drives to rip, tried using iso read/write in DVD Decrypter. Also tried SmartRipper, nothing. Always errors out at VOB 2 says I/O error. Have tried 15 different backups, all error at the same spot. This is so stupid and frustrating. Used the latest version of Nero to make bakcups. Never had this problem before, just started out of nowhere. Thing is, all play just fine in dvd player.

It appears that you are using a FAT32 file system and are trying to rip an ISO file over 4GB in size.
FAT32 does not normally allow files over 4GB in size - you need to rip to the VOB format.

iso mode will still work. it will just split the image in 2.

Not sure that DVD Decrypter will automatically split the ISO - Think that new version of Shrink may

dvd decrypter WILL automatically split the image and create a .mds file to link them.

hi ,
i don't know what your problem must be
i will try to rip it on my pc when i get my hands on it
must say i'm not a big fan of these movies ,
so i will not buy to just try it
if other movies are working , it is not the dvd player
neither its lens , if you try several copy's of the original it will also not be the disk ,
so what's left is your system or a combination of your system , os and DVD Decrypter ,
i see yor hd is formatted in fat32
i'm not sure thats the problem but
for ripping and other dvd stuff ntsf is recomended
on the other hand there may be a other solution
you can try making a iso file with blindwrite
