PowerDVD not responding

I am currently using powerdvd with a Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616T. The problem I'm experiencing is that the application hangs with attempting to playback certain titles recorded on Philips DVD+RW.

There is an inconsistency where some titles, on the same disc, playback without a problem, which would make me think in-compatibility is not an issue.

Can anyone suggest what I can do?
