burnt backup doesnt play

Hi, this is my first post to this board so please bear with me. I just tried making a backup copy of searching for bobby fischer and i used nero 5.5.9.0 and a hp dvd 200i writer. the nero wizard copied the dvd to my hard drive and then did a straight burn to my dvd+r and it said it came out okay, but when i tried to play it,the copyright warnings come out clear but the movie is all pixeled and you can't see it. I made a backup of my american idol dvd the same way and i had no problems with it. I would like to know if bobby fischer has a code or something on it that prevents from doing a straight burn. it is under 4 gigs in size. So my question is, do you have to use an encrypter first or is there another way to do it. Thanks for reading this.
