I went on to www.ps2ownz.com and got the new keylauncher prog and tried to boot it using these progs: Cogswaploader, free HDloader, ps2link, naplink, cdloader and ps2menu. I haven't been able to boot any dev progs on my v7 ps2 yet. I have used the following structure in ps2gen to get the .bin and .cue files:
/SYSTEM.CNF
/EXPINST.ELF
/CDVD.IRX
/JUNK.IRX
/TITLE.DB
/FILES/KL.DAT
/FILES/BOOT.ELF (KL)
/FILES/BOOT2.ELF (CogSwapLoader)
/FILES/CDLOADER.ELF
/FILES/HDLOADER.ELF
/FILES/PS2LINK.ELF
/FILES/PS2MENU.ELF
/FILES/NAPLINK.ELF
/FILES/IPCONFIG.DAT (Config. for PS2Link)
/FILES/IOMANX.IRX
/FILES/PS2DEV9.IRX
/FILES/PS2IP.IRX
/FILES/PS2LINK.IRX
/FILES/PS2SMAP.IRX
/FILES/UNRAR.IRX
/FILES/SYSTEM.CNF
/DUMMY/DUMMY.BIN (about 130mb with mpeg files)

I burned the .bin and .cue files on a Memorex CD-RW. I am still a newb at this and I need someone to explain the LBA to me. When I try to boot anything it goes to the red sceen with the swap magic 3.2 background for a while then it gets a blue border around it and thats as far as i got to booting these files.

I tried to download the keylauncher0.2+image.rar file of the siirlabs website and tried burning that, but before I did I had to extrac the .bin file to change the TITLE.DB file. But when I put all of the files into cdgenps2 (with the modified title.db) but all of the LBA was changed. I tried burning the image with the scambled LBA but it didn't work. Can someone tell me how the LBA should be set up for the keylauncher0.2+image.bin file? I was also wondering where exactly to get the PS2_APLICACIONES_HDLOADER_HDADVANCE_[www.bcgp.net] file. I looked all over for it but can't seem to find it.

OK
Here I am again...
Emule you can find at http://www.emule-project.net/
there you can find everthing what you need..
Thet is true..when you download keylauncher0.2+image.rar
(around 3 M) and Unrar you will het 1 cue and 1 bin file.. then (I am ) use ultraiso to make iso file of bin file and again open that file with ultra iso..
then I am delete original TITLE.DB file and add my own (press F3 )... Then I am une Nero 6 to burn iso file..(without using cue file) on 4x speed on TDK gold..
Then I am Boot sm3, swap insert "PS2_APLICACIONES_HDLOADER_HDADVANCE_[www.bcgp.net] boot disk" swap then insert KL disk(disk what I am just made) and after you close press "X"..
All worked well on my PS2 V9 Pal
Good tutorial is on http://jeexlabs.com/hdloader/ or http://home.socal.rr.com/hypnotika/hdloader%20tutorial.htm but files there are for US consoles

If you have problem to add your psx game to Title.db you can check http://ps2newz.net/ for nice small GUI utility that allows easily add entries into your Title.db ...
Title.db Maker v0.1. A can also instantly add entries from any system.cnf you point it to.

i just released v0.2 of Title.DB Maker, there were several pretty big bugs in v0.1 that i fixed in v0.2. so if you already downloaded v0.1 i highly recommend getting v0.2.

OK!!!!I still cant get this to work!! I went and downloaded ultraiso and opened up the keylauncher image package that I downloaded off od siirlabs(the one with the progs already in it ie:HDL, HDA, CDL, CSL etc.)I looked though the files and deleted the original title.db file and copied my own into the .bin file. I then right clicked on the title.db file and went into view which opened notepad with a lot of gibberish, but I noticed at the bottom it said: mc0:\BRDATA-SYSTEM\BOOT.ELF but I have a us ps2 so I changed it to: mc0:BEDATA-SYSTEM\BOOT.ELF, but that cant be the problem because I couldnt even install the files on my mc yet. I also noticed that it said non-bootable in the ultra iso, so I selected system.cnf as the boot file and it changed to bootable. And I changed the kl.dat file it read mc0:\BADATA-SYSTEM\(files) for each buttom installment so I changed each of them to BEDATA-SYSTEM. I burned I on sony cdr. Oh, and i tried booting it as an .iso file.

I do not know...
I am still new to this, but so far all was so easy and without problems...
Bigest problem for me was booting SM 3.2 disk on my PAL PS2 ver 9 .. It is work everi 6-7 -th time...
Meybe is problem in that because you are edit your file in notepad...
All that is maybe right, but I'm still thinking that you are traying to boot cd without boot disk..
If you are affreid to use emule.. Read about it in some forums and you will see that is one of safest P2P aps...

I went on emule and got the PS2_APLICACIONES_HDLOADER_HDADVANCE[www.bcgp.net].rar file and extracted the bin/cue files then I opened it up in UltraISO then saved it as a .iso file burnt to disk and still wont boot. It seems that when I put in sm3 disk it boots it up then when it stops spinning, the laser stays on the outside of the cd. But when I burn it, the small data (apx.50mb) is in the center so when i click on Load Program in sm3 it starts spinning and freezes before it gets to the data and just keeps spinning it seems. Its done that every time on every cdr I tried to boot up. I also noticed that when the smdvd2 stops spinning the laser stops in the center of the disk.

When you are get PS2_APLICACIONES_HDLOADER_HDADVANCE[www.bcgp.net].rar file you do not need to convert it to iso..just burn it...use Nero or other ap. (go File and use option burn image file..)...
After you get you do not edit anything...
I am get impresion that you are presing eject buton when you are swaping cds... that is wrong...use slide card or flip top.. in no case pres eject, because that send signal to procesor to recheck if inserted cd is original...
Sorry man I wish I can do this for you, because you are missing good tools..
Good luck
p.s. please never edit nothing exept title.db file and for shore not in notepad...

Hey cody1414 you have the order wrong when you compiled your disc that is why it isn't working man.The order should be like this:

CDVD.IRX
EXPINST.ELF
SYSTEM (Change the LBA of this to 12231 which should be the LBA of the swap magic cd or Gameshark,Action Replay whatever you use to boot your games)
Title.db (I use a PS1 disc to boot my exploit,but if you are trying to use the keylauncher exploit.It will have a title.db which launches off of the Breaker Pro Disc)

Make a new Folder and label it FILES

FILES:
KL.DAT
BOOT.ELF (KL)
CSL.ELF (CogSwapLoader)
CDLOADER.ELF (CdloaderV7_beta5.2)
HDLOADER.ELF
PS2LINK.ELF
PS2MENU.ELF
NAPLINK.ELF
IPCONFIG.DAT
IOMANX.IRX
PS2DEV9.IRX
PS2IP.IRX
PS2LINK.IRX
PS2SMAP.IRX
UNRAR.IRX
SYSTEM.CNF

Make a new folder and label it DUMMY

DUMMY:
DUMMY.BIN (it is a dummy file filled with zeroes,helps the exploit boot and so forth)

This is the order you should follow cody1414 when you compile your disc.If you have different files then what is stated you know as your .ELF files then you will have to look at your KL.DAT file by opening it up with word document or text to look at it to see what it says.It should look like this:

AUTO=10
[]=mc0:/BADATA-SYSTEM/HDA.ELF;HDAdvance
/\=mc0:/BADATA-SYSTEM/PS2LINK.ELF;PS2Link
O=mc0:/BADATA-SYSTEM/BOOT2.ELF;CogSwapLoader by Hermes
X=mc0:/BADATA-SYSTEM/HDLOADER.ELF;Hdd Loader Free
R1=mc0:/BOOT/EXECFTPS/EXECFTPS.ELF;ExecFTPs
R2=mass:/KL/HDLOADER.ELF;HDLoder (USB)
R3=
L1=
L2=
L3=

This is a example of a NTSC KL.DAT where NTSC uses BADATA not BEDATA.If you are using a Europe console you should be using BEDATA and if you are using a Japanese console you should be using BIDATA.I made a guide probably not the best one made on making a Independence Installer for the memory card,but if you want to look at it you can find it here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289 .I know everybody has there own ways of making there exploits,but I like to make it simple so I try to explain it as simple as possible.I am trying to help as much as I can on the memory card exploit,but if you have a different technique share your technique.

Peace L-Burna

I decided not to use a cdr to install to my memory card at all. Instead I was able to get X-port. I copied my system configuration file to my pc, modified it, and sent it back to my MC. But I still cant get the keylauncher to boot. Im not sure exactly how the system file should be set up. I dont have breaker pro so I cant use that disk. I tried making a new title.db file using titlemanfrontend and added crash bandicoot, the original ps1 disk, and the hdd utility disk (DVD) just to see if it would work. I copied all the nessesary files for the programs that I want to boot off of Keylauncher to the system config file using KL4.0 as my boot.elf but Im not sure if my title.db is set up right. I opened it in word pad and there is a lot of gibberish including my id numbers i added but at the very bottom it says: mc0:BRDATA-SYSTEM/BOOT.ELF could that be the problem? My ps2 is a US console so my system file is BADATA-SYSTEM. Also using the program to edit ps2 saves on pc im not sure exactly where to put the title.db files and if Im suppose to put all the other files in a folder.

Hi there all...

Now, Ive been reading this with great interest but have a couple of problems.

I am using hdloader and dont have any kind of swap disc, however I *do* have a image that I made (an NRG) that isnt burnt to cd because I cant do nothing with it LOL.

However, the image is all made up with the elfs in the file folder and so forth and is set to boot from my UN jammer lammy psone game.

Now you've all probably worked out that I cant get the files onto the MC well heres my question...

I have execftp installed into my hard drive and can run it, so I can access my ps2 from the PC and get a lovely view of my memory card on there.

So, This stuff thats packed into my image (system file, file folder and so on with all the lovely elfs that make the ps2 do all this cool stuff) and all the keylauncher files are there.

Can I FTP all these files (all the ones that are in the image) direct to the memory card?
Infact scrub that, I can, but it didnt work.
So what I need to know is *exactly* where they need to be on the memory card and what the file structure would look like...

If someone can please tell me (maybe by looking at their memory card accross a network) how the keylauncher and all its files are laid out on the memory card then Ill give FTP a try.

If it can be done like that I'll do a full how to on it afterwards (including all the setup of execftp)

Thanks

Andy
