Just outta curiousity I purchased and installed my first fliptip yesterday,and I notice it doesn't exactly flip open . I have to hold and press onto the notch and manually lift the cover to get it to open. Has it always been this way or did I get a defective?

thats how all the push button ones are. the springs are not strong enough to pull apart the magnets holding it down.
