Shareaza isn't to bad but you are right it is slow.
E-donkey is bloody useless, it says there are hundreds of people with the file that you want but when you go to download it you are in a queue of about 3000 people. Load of crap.
I use Kazaa Lite in conjuntion with Diet Kazaa and the files download straight away and usually quite fast too.

I don't realy like shareaza much. I was looking for a replacement for Kazza so i tried ares and then shareaza. Ares seems to have better results.

Ive had a lot of success using K-Lite (apart from the odd bogus file) along with WinMX and Shareaza.
Using any P2P your at risk of getting busted, i just make sure i keep Peer Guardian up to date.

Kazaa is terrible
the best way to go is IRC - and its almost a 99.9% certainty that you cant get busted, well atleast not by anyone else - maybe by your isp ;D

I tried e-donkey and overnet but it's always a nightmare waiting for things to connect. I always seem to be in a queue somewhere. It's like shareaza, I can leave the pc on for days and nothing happens.
These filesharing programs seem to work differently for different people
