For a Media guide see http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Buying Verbatim is a crapshoot. According to the Media guide the media code can be anything from YUDEN (Good) to CMC (bad).

Check the media guide and buy a known good media.

Good media has good results
Bad Media = coasters

video help said that Verbatim Digital Movie are media code MCC which is good.

Says that the datalife are either MCC or TYG01

The better gamble it looks like the Verbatim 25-Pack 4x DigitalMovie DVD-R Disc Spindle.

If you wish to find out each discs media code use DVD Identifier - http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

You will need at some point to confirm the media code only then you will know if it is good or bad.

For example Memorex +R media can either be RICOHJPN01 (good) or CMC (bad) after buying a spindle of CMC I learned the packaging differences to avoid the CMC
