I have an LG DVD writer with it's own software and have just downloaded DVDShrink, but I'm not sure if Nero is the software I need to use in order to successfully burn a DVD or can I sue the one that came with LG??

Can someone pls. advice.

Hi,

What software did the LG come with?

DVD Shrink doesn't have it's own burning engine but it is set up to use either Nero's or DVD Decrypter's engines to burn.

You might want to have a peek at this thread :)

For dvd backups I personally recommend CloneDVD2, however, DVD Shrink will get the job done and it's free :) Keep in mind that you must first rip the dvd with DVD Decrypter(file mode) or SmartRipper. For burning data to a dvd burnatonce will get the job done and it's free as well :)

That was quite easy. Thank you very much. Is there any programs you can recommend that will print DVD labels also?

Case inserts or sticky labels?

If you're thinking of using sticky labels I'd strongly advise against doing so since they have a nasty habit of causing read errors on playback.

This may be of interest:

For case inserts I'd recommend checking out http://www.cdcovers.cc/ where you can download and print off covers :)

Sticky labels can cause problems. I got an Epson R200 printer at Sam's Club for $89.- that prints directly onto printable cd-r's or dvd-r's. I got hub printable Prodisk 4X dvd-r's for $54.-for 100 disks from www.americal.com. With 2nd day air it came to $69.-. I've gone through 50 of them so far and haven't had a coaster yet, and I'm amazed how great the labels come out. The Epson ink is pretty smear proof, but I spray them with a light coat of spray acrylic Krylon. I've spilled water on them and they don't smear.

Does anybody have any experience in scanning the actual dvd face to get a label that you can't find anywhere? I have an HP Scanjet 4300c and am trying to do it right now and I can't change the size. When I download a label from daprogger.mine.nu/ they always come out perfect. I can drag the picture right from my desktop to my dvd label printing program and it's a perfect fit. How do I get it like that when I scan one myself?
