Need some help with ABC and yellow light (not port forwarding)

I am not so good at the forums deal, but I am sick of waiting a week for a file to be downloaded. I am using ABC for downloading, and I have a Linksys wrt54g router, and I am runnign on 2000nt. I have read forum after forum, guide after blah blah..I've fowarded the ports 6881-6999 and port 56666 because it says something about that port on the ABC website. I have spy sweeper and norton anti-virus, if that makes a difference. But to the point, after all that, my files are still yellow (no incoming connections) and my download rates slow. Oh, and I had to lower my # of peer connections because my modeom would disconnect and I had to unplug-replug. So if someone could help, I would be very thankful.
