So I dont have a DVD burner yet, I have a Dell Inspiron 5100, Pentium{R} 4 CPU 2.4GHz 512ram, XP any suggestions for an external Burner????

Anyways to Ghetto ripping being with out a burner and not realizing the whole Smartripper DVDavi procedure can split, I ripped and saved the vob files with DVD shrink and then used DVDavi. But after I did that I found a thread on splitting with Tmpeg(sp) But the real reason I did this was to make VCD since I dont have a DVD burner (smart ripper takes more time than i am willing to invest IF & When there is a faster way to rip the DVD....

Not to mention DVD quality over VCD.

Plextor is about as good as it gets. The 708A would be a good one to start out with. Google for deals.
