I have a Duo2 in a V4 w/Gap:
PS1 originals/backups are no problem
PS2 Originals (CD/DVD) are USUALLY good, 1/4 of the time they red screen
PS2 backups on CD result in a red screen a little less than half of the time
PS2 backups on DVD will red screen 99% of the time - i've been able to boot them once in a great while.

My DVD's are Ritek DVD-R's and Imation DVD+R's, both have same results.
IF a backup does boot, it will be playable for hours, i've never experienced a freeze. (i got viewtiful joe to boot after about 50 tries, then played it for near 4 hours)

Laser doesn't seem to struggle at all, seems more like it either decides to play it or not, but never sits there going 'reading disk'
